I have a "perfect for me" husband that balances me so well and keeps me grounded. Where I struggle, he exceeds. We are fun, sarcastic, and have big dreams. I hope this blog is a way that our family and friends can stay in the loop with what's going on in our world.

Catching Up....

I know it's been awhile so I thought I would catch you up to date.  A lot has happened since the last post so I'll try to go in chronological order.

Friends of ours Chris and Allison got married in June at the Marietta Convention Center.  They had a beautiful wedding and we had a great time.  Here's a picture of the boys and the girls at the wedding.

After I had my tonsils removed which was absolutely HORRIBLE, Chase and I went and visited his wonderful cousins Dana and Damien in Virginia.  We were lucky enough to ride the train to Washington D.C. and spend the day touring and then we went to Dana and her husband's Jody's beach house in Virginia Beach for the Fourth of July.  We had a fantastic time with Dana, Jody, Damien, his new wife Lori, Makensie, and sweet Carmela.  We had a great time and we cannot wait to visit again!

I also hosted my first baby shower in July.  I gave Meggie a baby shower for Miss Rylee Kate.  She was born on August 26 and she is absolutely precious.  Here a few pics from the shower.
Also, Zach and Courtney are having a baby!!  They are the first couple in the group to have a baby and we are all extremely excited.  We all attended our first gender reveal party in Gainesville, Georgia where we discovered that they are having a little girl and it was super cute.  Here are a few pictures from the gender reveal.

Some friends of ours gave us tickets to see the Atlanta Falcons play the Denver Broncos.  Chase and I were extremely excited to see Peyton Manning in person and to see the Falcons because they are awesome this year!!  We met up with John and Becky and we had a blast!  Here are some pictures...

The most exciting thing that has happened lately is our FIRST YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!  We went to Chicago and had a wonderful time!!  Chicago is definitely one our favorite cities we've ever visited.  It was such a beautiful city, the food was amazing, and we definitely want to visit again.  I cannot believe it's been a year, it has flown by so quickly.  It has been a great year and we're looking forward to many more.  Here's some pictures....

Most recently, we surprised Zach and Courtney with a baby shower at the lake this weekend.  All of us girls have been working for weeks to keep this a secret and it turned out great.  We are all excited to meet little Brecklynn Elizabeth in January!!  Here's a picture of Zach and Courtney, the girls, the boys, and the group...

Vacations....

It's hard to believe that the summer is almost over and the real world starts again soon.  Although I have to say that we have had a eventful summer so far.  I have been to the beach with my Mama, Aunt Pam, teaching friend Coplin, and Cousin Neal which was very relaxing but no pictures from the trip. :(  We did go parasailing and between Pam and I we lost all the pictures that we paid for...bummer...but it was a blast.  I was the only one that had been before (Holly and I went a long time ago) and why in the world Mama and Pam thought they would enjoy this I have no idea because they screamed like little girls and I think some tears were shed.  And if you know them it was definitely an adventure from the banana boat ride to 800 feet above the ocean.  It was seriously hilarious!  I also took my cheerleaders to camp at Southern Mississippi.  They did a great job and I was so proud of the them.  They received all blue ribbons we had one cheerleader and our mascot to make All American and they placed in their cheer.  Here is a picture of them....
Not long after camp I had my tonsils taken out and it was 16 days before I had a meal with no pain medication and it was probably the worst experience I've ever had to date.  Poor Chase and my Mama....I think I did pretty well on the whining but it was seriously horrible.  AND we went on vacation to Virginia and Washington D.C. 10 days after surgery so while I wasn't 100% we had a fantastic time.  I thought I would include some pictures from our trip.  D.C. was an awesome place to visit and we saw so many cool and historic monuments and Virginia Beach was absolutely awesome.  We visited Chase's cousins Damion and his new wife Lori and Dana and her husband Jody.  They are wonderful and were such great hostesses.  Virginia Beach is a really cool place...the beach is beautiful and the boardwalk was awesome.  If you've never visited that area...you should.  Anyway.... here are some pictures to enjoy!
Me and FDR's Scottie (reminds me of my Big Boy)
Chase and FDR (our favorite)

We have one more vacation to go on with Daddy and Jodi and then it's back to normal life.  However, we  do have a lot of exciting things coming soon.  I am giving Meggie a baby shower at the end of the month and then Rilee will be here!  Zach and Courtney are also expecting and I'm so excited to attend my first gender reveal party.  And then before you know it it's our one year anniversary and we have a very exciting trip being planned!!

Spring Adventures...

Well... another school year has come to an end which means I actually have a little time to blog. I'm going to update you guys on a few things we've been up to lately. Our Spring Break was ridiculously busy. We went to Las Vegas again with a couple friend of ours, John and Becky. Neither of them had ever been to Vegas so it was a lot of fun to play tour guide. We visited Hoover Dam again, visited Sigfred and Roy's tiger sanctuary (it was amazing), and visited quite a few casinos that I had never seen. There are some pictures below of the trip. After we returned home from Vegas we left for San Destin for a cheerleader competition. Our girls competed very well but to say the least 3000 cheerleaders, hot charter buses, 90 degree weather, and sand is a recipe for disaster. Chase and I were both sick during this trip because of the nastiness of Vegas but all in all it was a good trip.

A few weeks ago my wonderful husband surprised me with a weekend getaway to Callaway Gardens. Chase had never been and it's been forever since I visited there. We almost killed ourselves riding bicycles for about 5 hours through the entire Gardens and we ate breakfast with Brady Quinn two mornings... I should probably clarify that we didn't actually eat with him but we did eat in the same place as him two mornings. We had a very relaxing weekend and I'm definitely being spoiled with surprise trips.

Chase has been pretty busy with fun stuff lately. I got him tickets to the Master's for his birthday. His buddy Zach went also and they had a great time. No pictures of this adventure because are not allowed of course. He also just got back from another Bachelor party at the beach. Us wives and girlfriends are definitely catching on to this conspiracy of how convienantly one the guys has gotten married the past 4 summers which forces them to go on a Bachelor party every summer... poor guys. Anyway they had a great time and I've included a couple of pictures of how close Chase was to winning a brand new Jeep Wrangler on a hole in one shot in a golf tournament they played in while on the trip. He is truly lucky to have such a strong group of friends.

My birthday is tomorrow and by the way birthdays are not as much as fun as they used to be because I'm getting old. I know I'm not "old" but I'm on the down hill slide to 30... Scary! We are headed to a Braves game Friday. I have been asking for tickets to help say farewell to Chipper so I was so excited for the birthday tickets.
